VOLUNTEER program

CLOTHING COLLECTION

When Kimberley Montini, one of the L3 founders, began teaching at Mark Twain Elementary, she noticed many students came to school wearing the same outfit all week. As winter temperatures dropped below freezing, the students arrived at school in the same clothing, often wearing little more than a t-shirt.

Too many children in Kansas City, KS do not have adequate clothing, especially in the winter. The teachers and staff at their schools are particularly aware and able to identify who these children are, so the schools maintain clothing closets to have what is needed on hand. We hold clothing drives periodically throughout the year to collect coats, winter wear, pants, and shirts for these children. Elementary schools in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools we currently serve are Mark Twain, McKinley, Silver City, and Hazel Grove.

With the help of generous cash and in-kind donations from individuals and elementary schools, as well as contributions of time and efforts by volunteers, we are able to clothe children in Kansas City, Kansas.

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE AS THE OPPORTUNITY APPROACHES.
